The festival, formerly the Balsam Mountain Jamboree, takes place the second Saturday of the month from June through October at the Ole Mater Farm off Greens Creek Road.

Time: Noon-9:30 p.m.

Admission is $10 per person, and children under 14 are admitted free. Proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

This mountain tradition features an always-enjoyable variety of Big Circle Mountain Dancers, Clog Dancers, Bluegrass and Old Time String Bands, Ballad Singers, and Storytellers. Shindig on the Green gets underway “along about sundown,” or for those using a watch- 7:00 p.m., and usually runs until 10:00 p.m.

Music to remember on the cool banks of Cove Creek in Sugar Grove North Carolina, preserving our mountain musical heritage and celebrating the diversity it has inspired!

Since 1928, mountain fiddlers, banjo pickers, dulcimer sweepers, dancers, balladeers and others have come to enjoy themselves “along about sundown” the first weekend in August at the Mountain Dance and Folk Festival. In 2007, performers at the Mountain Dance and Folk Festival will take to the stage for the 80th time at Diana Wortham Theatre at Pack Place in downtown Asheville on Thursday through Saturday, August 2 through August 4, at 7 p.m.

The Ola Belle Campbell Reed Homecoming Festival is an opportunity to celebrate the life and music of this remarkable woman in the locale where her life's journey began, the small community of Lansing, along the New River in the mountains of North Carolina.

At this years 10th Annual Fines Creek Bluegrass Jam clogging teams, bands, fans and friends will gather at the stage behind the historic old Fines Creek school to raise money for scholarships. Grab a lawn chair and join 500 or so friends to experience an old timey, down home mountain festival, complete with cornbread, beans and homemade cakes.

Features two nights of the finest traditional Southern Appalachian music and dance the Smoky Mountain Folk Festival is held annually Labor Weekend in Stuart Auditorium at Lake Junaluska, NC

This year the festival will be held at Jones Farm, northeast of Lenoir on N.C. Byway 268. The Jones Farm is the historic property of Tony Jones and his family, and home to Laura Foster's resting place. Laura Foster lived directly across the road from the current festival on German's Hill. Tom Dooley was accused of murdering a neighbor, Laura Foster, in 1867. The events surrounding this crime and Dooley's subsequent trial and execution live on in North Carolina's best-known murder ballad and in stories passed down through local families.

The festival hosts musicians from western North Carolina and the upstate of South Carolina who play mountain music- bluegrass bands, traditional stringbands, square dancers, ballad singers, and traditional song writers- grace the Lunsford Stage. The lineup changes yearly to give opportunity to new performers.

Mountain Song Festival was created to bring the best in acoustic music including bluegrass, old-time, folk and traditional mountain music to our community and to further encourage music in our everyday lives.

Hosted by the Great Smokies Craft Brewers Association and benefiting Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Western North Carolina, the Brewgrass Festival has quickly become one of the most popular beer and bluegrass events in the Southeast.

A two-day celebration of the rich heritage of the Smoky Mountains through bluegrass, folk, and classic country music. First annual event. Held at the Eagle's Nest.

The festival name was borrowed from the song, Carolina in the Fall, written and performed by The Kruger Brothers. The lyrics to the song allude to the hospitality shown by the Shepherd Family as they welcomed The Kruger Brothers and their friends and family while they have performed and visited in the United States.

This three-day event will feature such well known bluegrass performers as Tony Rice, JD Crowe & The New South, IIIrd Tyme Out, Balsam Range, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, and Doc Watson There will be a free two-hour “Bluegrass Gospel Performance”on Sunday from 9-11AM.

MerleFest began in the spring of 1988 and has grown from two flat-bed trailers and 4,000 attendees to 13 stages with more than 81,500 festival participants.

Bluegrass and Arts &Crafts Festival, May 31st, 2008, starting at noon, at Swain County Center for the Performing Arts at Swain County High School, Bryson City, NC. The event starts at noon and will continue into the evening (closing time "until"). Headlining is "Pine Mountain Railraod" featuring local talent Cody Shuler. Opening acts include local groups: Mountain Faith, Reel Time, Eternal Hope, Rye Holler Boys, and Cornerstone.

The festival is FREE to the public and features some of the region's best Traditional and Bluegrass Music followed by an evening Square Dance until dark! Bring the family and the lawn chairs to enjoy a day full of music under the shade trees!
