Dehlia LowAsheville, NCDehlia Low came together- as many bands in Asheville do- through the rich local bluegrass jam scene. Anya moved to town, and after Stacy heard her sing at a jam at a favorite local bar, Jack of the Wood, she knew they had to sing together. They started working out some songs, loved the sound and the process and recruited Aaron to play the dobro. This developed and Scott came along to fill out the low end on the bass. Bryan moved to town, played at the Jack of the Wood jam, and Dehlia Low snatched him right up for our first gig before anyone else could lay claim to him. We've been gigging locally in the Asheville area and in the Southeast ever since. VideoWebsiteinfo@macro-management.com828.252-3678

Paul's Creek BandAsheville, NC A popular group formed on the banks of Paul's Creek in Asheville, N.C., they appear at many of the events in the region including MerleFest, Fines Creek, the Lake Eden Arts Festival, Asheville's Mountain Dance and Folk Festival, Stecoah Valley Performing Art Center, Morganton Center for the Performing Arts and many more. The group is rooted in traditional sounds but stretches from bluegrass to old time, mountain music, early country and originals. The focus is singing and harmonies, old songs and original music with danceabilty and high energy fun thrown in. Mountain stories scatter through the show as they connect to the audience with songs, guitar, banjo, fiddle, upright bass, harmonica and feet. Carol Rifkin's voice shines on everything from Carter family songs to her originals. An award winning singer, guitar player and recording artist, she's a veteran touring artist and danced with Tommy Jarrell, Bill Monroe, Doc and Merle Watson (and now Doc and David Holt) and many more. Asheville native Jamie Soesbee grew up watching his dad and uncle play bass; it was natural he'd wind up touring internationally as a bass player. Paul's Creek core sound is Carol and Jamie's vocals but usually includes both banjo and fiddle and can work as a trio too. Recently they have hosted legendary fiddler Arvil Freeman, Tim Gardner, Lyndsay Pruett and Josh Goforth on stage, banjo players Troy Harrison and now George Buckner have spent time at Paul's Creek too,,,, The group can do everything from a large concert w sound, production and engineering provided to to a square dance with Carol calling and teaching clogging or a singing session in front of the fireplace. Sweetbriar JamLenoir, NCIn August of 2005, Flemings Chapel Baptist Church had a “talent show”. Sawyer Whitman was eleven years old. Dalton Caldwell was nine and Nick Seymour was eight. They had been playing their instruments for over a year and decided that it was time to combine their efforts for the talent show. They played “Old Joe Clark”, “Foggy Mountain Breakdown” and “Little Darlin’ Pal of Mine” and they were well received. Thus, the Good Ol’ Boys of Lenoir bluegrass band was launched. Over time and many “gigs” the guys thought it would be cool to include the two youngest boy’s sisters on some of the songs because they were coming along in their own musical talents. Katie Caldwell, Dalton’s twin sister had been playing the bass fiddle since March of 2007 and Sarah Seymour, Nicholas’s eight year old sister had been playing the fiddle since May 2006. Presently, the girls play full time with the guys and this band has become “Sweetbriar Jam”, a good combination of some great young people. VideoWebsitebookings@sweetbriarjam.com828-404-2370
